Stephanie Sandherr, OTR/L

As an occupational therapist, I am passionate about making a difference.  I want to be able to positively impact the lives of others through the work that I do.  I continue to pursue new opportunities, education, professional development and professional relationships to support my mission and goals.  I am driven by curiosity, grounded in education and evidence based research and a belief in the impossible.

Over the years, I have and the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including:

  • Pediatric Acute Care

  • Sensory Clinics and Outpatient Centers

  • Inpatient Adult Rehabilitation for Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries

  • Pediatric Orthopedic Hospital

  • NICU

  • In-Home with Medically Fragile Children

  • Early Intervention

  • Children's Hospital Rehabilitation Units

  • Hippotherapy

I have had experience treating a variety of diagnoses including: Autism, Amputation, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Sydrome, Developemental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Feeding Difficulties, Dysphagia, G-tube transition, DiGeorge Syndrome, Rhett's Syndrome, Pre-term Infants, Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Seizure Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Trauma and Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

Trainings I have completed or certifications I have acquired throughout my career include:

  • Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT)

  • Neurovascular Integration

  • SOS Feeding Method

  • Integrated Listening Systems

  • Therapeutic Listening

  • Hippotherapy AHA I

  • Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI)

  • Food Chaining

  • Infant Driven Feeding (IDF)

  • Infant Mental Health Credentialed

  • Various Trainings in Sensory Integration

As I continue work with children and families, I am always in search of new research, interventions and strategies to best treat the whole body.  In my time as a therapist, I have been driven to dive deeper than just treating the symptoms at first glance.  I look at the child's history from conception until now, becoming aware of who they are as a holistic being and developing an approach that individually addresses their needs, meeting them where they are to help their body integrate from the inside out.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you and your child and develop a fully integrated plan to help them become their very best!
